Textured Herringbone Cushion - Woad

£156.00

We are delighted to re-introduce the Textured Herringbone design to our homeware collection. First featured in the early 1960’s as a clothing fabric, created by Mourne Textiles Founder Gerd Hay-Edie, for Dublin based fashion designer, Sheila Mullally, the Textured Herringbone design has been reworked as a modern, interior fabric.

The unique variation in texture comes from the differing thicknesses of yarn, combined with occasional loops. This offset with the traditional zig-zag of the Herringbone pattern, creates a beautiful depth and richness to the fabric.

The Textured Herringbone Woad cushion celebrates the serene beauty of nature with its striking indigo blue yarn, reminiscent of deep twilight skies and the rich hues of woad-dyed textiles. Flecked with lighter sky blues, soft greens, and golden yellows, the fabric captures the essence of dappled sunlight filtering through leaves and the vibrant tones of wildflower meadows.

The natural undyed yarn provides a perfect contrast, grounding the design in earthy, organic tones and highlighting the timeless herringbone weave. This interplay of colour and texture evokes the harmonious balance of the natural world, where bold, saturated tones meet soft, neutral hues.

Expertly woven with precision and care, the Textured Herringbone Woad cushion is a sophisticated addition to any living space. Its rich palette and classic pattern make it a versatile piece, effortlessly complementing both modern and traditional interiors.

Inspired by heritage weaving techniques and the colours of the landscape, this cushion offers not only a tactile elegance but also a timeless connection to nature, bringing warmth and character to your home for years to come.

Woven across both blankets and cushions, the Textured Herring design is the perfect accompaniment to any interior.
