The Mourne Check cushion brings together heritage design and enduring craftsmanship, originating from the innovative vision of Gerd Hay-Edie. First created in collaboration with renowned designer Robin Day, this fabric became a defining element of his furniture for Hille in 1951, remaining a hallmark of mid-century style throughout his ten-year tenure with the brand.
Today, the Mourne Check is meticulously woven from a blend of durable linen and wool yarns, combining strength with a striking visual appeal. Its distinct check pattern is a testament to timeless design, offering a sophisticated touch to any interior while celebrating the enduring legacy of Mourne Textiles.
The Mourne Check Robin cushion brings a bold burst of colour, evoking the vibrant red of the robin's breast against the dark branches of winter trees.
Crafted with a striking pillar-box red wool yarn interwoven with black linen, this cushion presents a classic check design with a modern edge. The rich red tones are reminiscent of wild berries or vivid blooms that stand out against the rugged Mourne landscape, creating a warm yet dramatic contrast.
This cushion adds an eye-catching accent to any space, celebrating both timeless design and the rich colours of nature.
