Used by the celebrated designer Robin Day for Hille furniture during their influential partnership, the Mourne Check became a signature piece that laid the foundation for much of Day’s distinctive style.

At Mourne Textiles, we are proud to bring this design back into production, staying true to Gerd Hay-Edie’s original vision and craftsmanship. Our expert weavers carefully replicate the design, using a blend of durable linen and soft wool yarns. Woven on vintage power looms, we faithfully reproduce the same pattern with each colour precisely matched to the authentic heritage palettes of the time.
