First woven in 1964, this iconic blanket was originally referred to as the Irish Bedspread, used in a number of prominent Irish hotels, and was offered alongside our Maldwyn range of double weave blankets—known as the Welsh Bedspread. In the late 1960s, Hille also included this design within their furniture collection, recognising its timeless appeal.

Today, we have faithfully reproduced the Mourne Tweed blanket using custom-spun yarns from Donegal, carefully adhering to the original colourways.
