Description & Features

First created in 1972, by Mourne Textiles Founder, Gerd Hay-Edie, Cloughmore started its life as ‘Grey Rustic Mist’ and was originally designed for iconic, British furniture designer Hille. However, the fabric would never see production, as the price of the specialist, customised yarns, were deemed too expensive at the time and so the design was carefully documented and entered into the Mourne Textiles archives.

We are delighted to breathe new life into this design and to see it paired with the iconic, Robin Day Reclining Chair, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of contemporary furniture specialists, twentytwentyone.

Cloughmore features our signature twisted yarns, which have been custom dyed to match the archive colour palette. The fusion of mustard golds, rich reds and burnt oranges, provide a striking tone to a fabric that is heavily textured and perfectly captures both the functional and elegant elements of the mid-century era.
