14th June - Sashiko
Couldn't load pickup availability
In this 3-hour workshop we’ll explore Sashiko - which translates as “little stabs” - a Japanese form of decorative reinforcement stitching. It’s geometric, meditative, with endless possibilities. The stitch itself is a running stitch. The skill is in the rhythm and the grid. All guided step-by-step.
THE WORKSHOP
Running stitch fundamentals and the rhythm of Sashiko. How to mark and work a base grid - the foundation of all geometric patterns. Cross stitch pattern - structured, satisfying, and a strong place to start rice stitch pattern - builds directly on the cross stitch, adds complexity and movement.
This session suits anyone with an interest in textiles, stitching, and meditative practices. No prior experience is required; you’ll leave with practical skills and a finished Sashiko piece.
