Mourne Classic Offcut- Charcoal

First woven in the 1980s, Mourne Classic is a lightweight tweed with a distinctive texture created by unevenly threaded warp yarns. These off-cuts in the charcoal colourway features a dark mottled grey wool yarn weft, woven against a natural undyed yarn warp.

Originally designed for curtaining, its soft yet durable weave drapes effortlessly, falling with an elegant flow that enhances its natural texture. Light filters through the fabric, creating a warm, atmospheric effect. Designer Gerd Hay-Edie likened its rhythmic surface to the shifting tides. Recognised for its design excellence, Mourne Classic was selected by the London Design Centre in 1984.

This shorter length is ideal for smaller creative projects such as homeware or upholstery. To keep costs down, the fabric will be sent folded in sustainable packaging.
